DESCRIPTION:SCARC Field Day Academy 2021 will be held in the Oak Woods Shel
 ter at Ledges State Park. Approximate GPS coordinates of the Oak Woods She

 itional event details here: Field Day Academy 2021\n\nSetup\, orientation\
 , and hands-on training and demonstration activities will begin at 08:00 a
 nd continue until 10:00. ALL participants should plan to attend this porti
 on of the event if possible - even if their on-air coaching reservation is
  later in the day. The on-air activity will take the form of a Parks On Th
 e Air (POTA) activation for which the operator will receive "credit" for t
 he QSOs they make.\n\nA pre-event training session will be held via Micros
 oft Teams on May 20th at 19:30. A link to participate in this training wil
 l be provided to all SCARC members via the club's groups.io mailing list i
 n advance of the Field Day Academy event\, and a recording will also be ma
 de available publicly after the training for those unable to attend in-per
 son. If you sign up for an on-air session\, participation in this pre-even
 t training is VERY STRONGLY encouraged. Topics will include on-air protoco
 l and logging procedures\, radio and software familiarization\, tips for m
 aking contacts and holding a frequency while calling CQ\, example QSO exch
 anges for Field Day and POTA activations\, and recordings of previous live
  Field Day and POTA contacts to allow advance practice.\n\nOn-air activity
  will commence at 10:00. Guests and observers are welcome to attend\, howe
 ver on-air participation will be restricted to a single operator for their
  reserved timeslot. Participants may only sign up for ONE on-air timeslot 
 however everyone is STRONGLY encouraged to participate for both setup AND 
 to observe at least a portion of the on-air activities of other participan
 ts.\n\nAll participants\, visitors\, and guests must observe current CDC a
 nd State of IDPH recommended pandemic control protocols with respect to ma
 sks and social distancing.\n\nThe event will open for registration at midn
 ight on Monday May 3\, 2021\n\n&nbsp\;
